EDUCATE YOURSELF

Atoms is a shoot ‘em up that can be an auxiliary tool for students aiming to learn the Periodic Table of Elements, but it's also designed to be a fun experience for anyone looking for a challenge.

Many games try to educate and fail to be fun. Atoms is fun, but it may fail to educate.

Ugh, has all progress been reset again? So annoying ... I think it's a problem of Itch, but still, makes me lose interest always, no matter how fun the game is. Starting over is never fun :-(

Hi Swoopie!

Apologies for the inconvenience, I know it can be frustrating.

I can share with you this promotional code for a free pair of wings: MOSHAMOSHA. You can claim it in the Armory :)

I recently updated the game to solve the bug you reported.

Thanks for playing!

Pretty nice game! Only have some issues with having to keep the mouse button down to move. Doesn't make much sense to me, why not just have the ship follow the cursor? Or better even, control it with keyboard (or gamepad)?

Also found two bugs, one small, one big:

1. After completing the third quest, the banner does not change to 'completed' state. Only when going out of the Quests menu and back again, it changes to "new quests start in X".

2. Although I now have 8000+ coins, the upgrade of my wing still shows that I only have 10 coins, which was the case before my last run. It seems to not take into account my new amount of money.

Hello! Thanks for your feedback!

Controlling the ship with a keyboard/gamepad is a great suggestion!

Having the ship auto follow is an interesting suggestion - currently the game requires you to press the mouse button as you move so that when you release it you can activate your super-power and move between the menus via clicks. But it’s an interesting design problem; I’ll take this into consideration.

I’ll be taking a look at the bugs you mentioned and will test the alternate control methods you suggested for the next game update!

Thanks for playing!

Awesome! Would love to try out different control schemes, because I'm not bored yet and will probably play it a few times the coming period :) Auto follow might not be the best idea btw, because I think I'd like to stay still every now and then as well.

Oh btw, my 2nd bug is not a bug. I only now noticed you can only have 12 upgrades on these wings, so I'm maxed out.
